FC Barcelona and African legend Samuel Eto’o was awarded the 2015 Golden Foot at a gala in Monaco.
The 34-year-old, who has starred with five goals in his first five games in Turkey, won the prize awarded to active players above the age of 28 for their contributions both on and off the field.
The retired Cameroon captain joined an illustrious list of former winners and followed last year’s winner Andres Iniesta.
Eto’o is only the second African to win the Golden Foot award after Didier Drogba won it in 2013.
Previous winners are Iniesta (2014), Drogba (2013), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (2012), Ryan Giggs (2011), Francesco Totti (2010), Ronaldinho (2009), Roberto Carlos (2008), Alessandro Del Piero (2007), Ronaldo de Lima (2006), Andriy Shevchenko (2005), Pavel Nedved (2004) and Roberto Baggio (2003).
