Toyin Saraki is the wife of Nigeria Senate President and Founder Wellbeing Foundation Africa which offers help to other women. in this recent interview she spoke with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) to call for improvements in health education and access to primary healthcare – key elements to reducing stillbirths around the world.
Every year over there are over two million still births around the world, but two thirds of these are in sub-Saharan Africa. New research published in the Lancet shows that Nigeria has the highest rate of stillbirths in Africa. It’s a harrowing and traumatic experience and something which Toyin Saraki has gone through.
