Coach Sunday Oliseh led home-based Super Eagles are out of the Africa Nations Championship after losing 1-0 to Guinea.
The promising eagles team were unable to make it beyond their final group game after 90 minutes of play on Tuesday.
Guinea finally opened the scoring in the 45th minute through Ibrahima Sankhon. Prior to the start of the second half, Chisom Chikatara replaced Paul Onobi.
Nigeria missed several chances from attempts by Osas Okoro and Bright Onyedikachi.
Guinea join Tunisia, who beat Niger Republic 5-0 in the other group match, in the quarter-finals from Group C.
