Compton Rapper, Kendrick Lamar dominates the 2016 Grammy’s with 11 whopping nominations. This includes nods for Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Rap Album.
His closest competitors, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd, have seven nominations each.
It would be recalled that Lamar’s earned seven nominations in 2014 for good kid, m.A.A.d city before going home without a single win, and picked up two trophies last year for To Pimp a Butterfly’s lead single, “i.”
Swift is the only artist to have nominations in all three of the big categories: Album of the Year (for 1989), Song of the Year, and Record of the Year (both for “Blank Space”).
Other big nominations include Meghan Trainor and Tori Kelly for Best New Artist and Ed Sheeran‘s “Thinking Out Loud” in three categories.
