Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is expected to be sidelined for two months after suffering a serious knee injury, according to reports.
The 23-year-old played for his country during the international break and returned at full fitness, only to hurt his knee during the first session back on Wednesday.
It has been reported that the injury is not believed to be to his cruciate ligaments, but Courtois is still facing time out.
Asmir Begovic, bought from Stoke City for £8m to replace Petr Cech, will likely make his second start for the club against Everton on Saturday; he had played against Manchester City after Courtois was sent off in the draw with Swansea City.
The news comes at a bad time for manager Jose Mourinho, who would have been hoping to get Chelsea back to top form, starting at Goodison Park. The Blues have picked up only four points from their first four matches of the season and already find themselves eight points behind unbeaten pace setters Manchester City.
