Contrary to insinuations that he ‘came out of the closet’ in a suggestive photo to reveal his perceived gay identity, Denrele Edun has set the records straight.
In the viral photo taken in the bathroom, a fully dressed Denrele posed with a half-dressed young man who was only clad in a towel round his waist.
He controversially captioned the photo, “When the side chick is no longer a side chick.”
But while reacting to the storm stirred up by the photo, Denrele identified the other person in the photo as his cousin and not a ‘gay partner’ as widely believed.
“I never said I was gay, people are just used to jumping into conclusion. I was only messing around in the picture that went viral. I am not coming out of any closet or wardrobe. The young man in the picture is actually my cousin,” he told Punch.
