The Emir of Kano,His Highness Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has sacked Lamido Bayero, the eldest son of the late Emir Ado Bayero, from his post as Ciroman Kano and District Head of Gwale.

According to reports, the decision was taken by the former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor following the refusal of Lamido to return to his duty despite the fact that the Emir had written his predecessor’s son, a few months after ascending the throne.

Emir Sanusi had reportedly allowed the issue to rest following Bayero’s appointment as the managing director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, by former President Goodluck Jonathan, but the moment Bayero was laid off by President Muhammadu Buhari, the emir reportedly directed the Emirate Council to write to Mr. Bayero again.

According a top palace source,When a letter was written to him again, he neither responded nor appeared in person to explain his reasons.

His Highness first reasoned that the local government of Gwale was too important to be left vacant, and so he elevated the son of Emir Inuwa to be the district head.

And now the title of Ciroma is also stripped.”

And according to a statement by Abbas Sanusi, the Galadima Kano, Emir Sanusi appointed Bayero’s younger brother, Nasiru Bayero, to replace him as the new Ciroman Kano, to take effect immediately.

Since losing out the throne of the new emir to the former CBN governor, Lamido Bayero, who was a foremost contender, has since moved to Abuja and refused to bow to the new emir as provided by the tradition.

Sanusi has also been in the news lately, as Nigerians mocked him for marrying an 18 year old teenager as his fourth wife, a situation which he has refused to blink an eye over.
