Chelsea are poised to complete a sensational raid to snatch Pedro from under the noses of Manchester United, with the forward due in London today.
Should Chelsea wrap up Pedro’s switch from Barcelona, it will come as a significant blow to United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward, who this week flew to Spain to try to close the deal.
Chelsea made their bid to hijack United’s move this week, following the 3-0 defeat to Manchester City. They are thought to have agreed a £22million deal with Barca, while Woodward and United haggled over the price.
With personal terms unlikely to be a problem, Pedro just needs to pass a medical before officially becoming a Chelsea player.
