The Body toll from today’s bombing in the Adamawa IDP camp has been reported as seven (7) while over 20 people are carrying life threatening injuries.
According to National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) spokesperson, Sani Datti, the injured people are currently receiving immediate treatment.
“So far seven persons lost their lives and 20 persons were injured in the bomb blast that occurred in Malkohi Internally Displaced Persons camp,” Datti told Reuters
“Among the injured, seven were treated and discharged while 13 persons including four NEMA officials are still receiving treatment,” he added.
He said further that the blast occurred at about 10:50 am and was caused by an explosive device planted in a tent in the facility.
The explosion is the first to occur in such a camp and is believed to be the work of terrorist sect, Boko Haram
