Senator Godswill Akpabio, who is also the immediate former Governor of Akwa Ibom state has been flown abroad for continuous medical treatment and Intensive Supervision.
The senate minority leader was involved but survived an Ill Fated Auto Crash on his way to work on Monday Morning, August 31st.
The Car Crash had reportedly happened along Abuja Major Road and was Immediately rushed to the National Hospital where he received immediate Treatment and Attention.
Reports in the early hours of yesterday, September 1st had it that he was Discharged from the Hospital to continue further treatment in his home.
However, the severity of his Injuries (Chest) must have called for an immediate action by family – as he was flown abroad yesterday afternoon at about 1pm aboard his private jet.
For his treatment abroad, the former Governor flew out with five aides aboard a private plane.
An official of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, who saw the senator while he was about to board his aircraft, said,
“He (Akpabio) was at the GAT local wing of the airport and one of the tarmac buses was used to convey him to his aircraft. He left around 20 minutes to 1pm.
”The flight conveying him on the trip taxied to the international terminal from where it took off. The former governor travelled with his own private flight and had about five persons who accompanied him on the trip. He looked physically okay, although some of the men with him said he might receive medical attention abroad due to the car crash he was involved in on Monday”.
