Christian Benteke has been unveiled as a Liverpool player after the Anfield club triggered his £32.5million release clause.
The Belgium hitman, who joined Aston Villa in 2012 and scored 42 league goals in 88 matches, arrived at the Reds’ Melwood training complex on Wednesday to undergo his medicals and put pen to paper.
Benteke will be complemented by other forwards like Danny Ings from Burnley and Roberto Firmino from Hoffenheim, as they seek to share the goal burden with injury-prone Daniel Sturridge.
He told the club’s official website: “I came here to win trophies. I came here to reach some great goals with the team.
