Sasha P (born Anthonia Yetunde Alabi ), also known as the First Lady of Nigerian Hip Hop,has debunks rumours that she has quit music finally.
The Ibadan-born rapper is also a businesswoman, lawyer and motivational speaker.
In an interview with Punch’s Saturday Beats, Sasha P revealed that she is not dumping music for fashion.
That fashion was only another avenue to express herself. The rap star explained that she has not released an album in a while because she has been preoccupied with other time consuming project.
“My interest in fashion has been from inception as far back as Trybe records. My vision is to build the number one Nigeria manufactured high- street brand in Africa.
My focus lately has been on developing the Eclectic by Sasha brand to achieve this vision. I cannot quit music because I am now into fashion.
This is just another avenue of self expression. God has been faithful. I opened my flagship store earlier this year and my first limited edition sneakers which I designed are currently sold out.
I am learning how to sustain a business daily and I am thankful that it is fulfilling,” she said.
When asked if she ventured into fashion out of fear of competition from the new crop of female artistes, the iconic rapper said,
“I cannot speak for ‘people’ I am simply living and loving life on my own terms.”
