TIMES Names Cookie Lyon ‘Most Influential Fictional Character Of 2015’ – Entertainment Express

Empire character, Cookie Lyon has just been named the ‘Most Influential Fictional Character of 2015′ by TIMES Magazine.

The 16 people list was released today, and Taraji P. Henson came top of the list.

Cookie Lyon’s fierce character in ‘Empire’ was one that quicly got admiration from lots of fans across the world from the first day the show aired.

The magazine lists 16 characters from Glenn Rhee of ‘The Walking Dead’ to Christian Grey of ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ and Jon Snow of ‘Game of Thrones’.

Explaining why Cookie Lyon tops the list, TIME says “With her high-drama scheming and higher-drama wardrobe, the Lyon family matriarch (played by Taraji P. Henson) was the biggest draw on TV’s most popular new show, Empire, luring more than 13 million viewers a week. In addition to spawning countless memes and catchphrases, she also helped inspire a clothing line at Saks Fifth Avenue. As Cookie herself said, “That’s my name. Take a bite.”
