Africa’s Richest Man, Aliko Dangote and billionaire oil magnate, Femi Otedola were spotted using cheap phones on Sunday in Lagos.
Dangote was seen with a Blackberry 9900 otherwise known as Bold 5 while Otedola was seen with a Nokia Torchlight phone.
The two were spotted at the media unveiling of Dangote’s multi billion naira oil refinery at the Lekki Free Trade Zone in Lagos.
Dangote’s blackberry is currently worth around N36,000 on e-commerce sites while Otedola’s Nokia costs a paltry N3,000. Some believed that the phones provide insight into the kind of modest lifestyle that two of the richest business men in Nigeria has adopted. Others say the choice of the phones is for security reasons.
