Reggae music in Nigeria has received a big boost with another edition of the Annual Africa Meets Reggae.
Currently in its second edition, the event is propped to rally all kindred spirits in the reggae music and showcase. Its scheduled for November 27 and 28 in Lagos.
The line up of performances and venue will be disclosed later even as a symposium with the theme, ‘The role of music in modern Nigeria’ holds on November 19th.
At a media parley that held at Ember Creek, Ikoyi, the convener, Victor Essiet also known as The Mandators revealed that the Africa Meets Reggae is Los Angeles based franchise that has been in existence before now.
Anchored by comedian Koffi, AMR media conference attracted stalwarts in the reggae music community and musicians which include Brown Bread, Stella Monye, Baba Dee, Blackface and Pretty Okafor, interim PMAN president.
“This year’s theme is ‘Voice of the Voiceless and holds in two parts this year with audience segregation in other to satisfy and cater for all lovers of Reggae and world music in Nigeria and other West African countries. This holds on 27th and 28th of November with an indoor and outdoor concert to celebrate the originality and uniqueness of Reggae music. It will interest you to know that Africa Meets Reggae will launch her first quarterly music academy aimed at nurturing raw talents this month,” says Victor Essiet.
