Pandemonium broke out in Abraka recently after a female student of Delta State University simply identified as Evelyn Mogekwe allegedly killed herself after being jilted by her lover of seven years.
It was gathered that the heartbroken girl decided to take her life after the seven years relationship hit the rocks.
Eyewitness claimed that the late Mogekwe, 26, who is in her 3000 level she was in high spirits in her hostel but became moody after her lover called her on phone to declare that their relationship was over.
She was said to have bought some drugs, claiming she was having headache and went into her room, leaving a message for her roommate that they might not see her again.
Apparently sensing the danger, her roommate rushed into the room and found her lying lifeless on the ground.
She then raised alarm which attracted other students to the room, but before help came her way, she was dead.
Confirming her death, the State Police Public Relations officers, DSP Celestina Kalu, said police recovered particles of drugs on the ground beside the deceased.
