Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the Federal High Court, Abuja, has dismissed the case filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, against one time governor of Bayelsa State, Timipre Sylva.

Sylva  is also the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate in the December 5 governorship election in the state.

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC,  had filed a 50 count charges bordering on stealing of N19.2bn, against Sylva.

However Justice Ademola on Thursday dismissed the case over abuse of court process.

Ademola said the charges had been dismissed by two Federal High Courts, and any attempt to revive the case was tantamount to abuse of court process.

The Judge further noted that the court lacked jurisdiction to entertain the criminal charges filed against the former Bayelsa State Governor.
